OUR SCHOOL
History
IISS was founded in by Dr. Mehsan Mauthoor on his return from South Africa. There he witnessed the success of this type of educational establishment. With the participation of South African educators, namely Ml. Abbas Ali who established several Islamic schools in Australia and South Africa, IISS opened its doors in January 1997 with 190 students (two kindergarten classes, four primary, two Form 1 classes and one Hifz Class).
Classes stated in January 1997, alhamdu lillàh, thanks to the initiative and perseverance of its founders, the expertise of educationists from Springs Muslim School of Johannesburg (South-Africa) and the co-operation of concerned Muslim parents. Eight classes (i.e. 2 pre-primary, 4 primary and 2 secondary classes) were in operation in a rented building owned by a Muslim society, the Jamia Al Uloom Al Islamia.
By the grace of the Almighty, the IISS has progressed steadily. From a population of about 180 students, today it has a total number of 36 classes and a school population of 650 students all sections combined.
The school’s main objectives since the beginning were:
-
Our students’ success both worldly and spiritual
-
To produce highly qualified professionals, Islamic Scholars and ethical individuals who will serve mankind in their respective fields
-
To encourage able students to learn and memorise the Qur’àn alongside their academic education
