With the advent of the 9 year schooling system, IISS is proposing to start a new Hifz Ul Quran programme.

The salient features of this programme are as follows:

Those parents who opt for this Hifz programme can enrol their child as from Grade I or 7. (std I or form I)

The child will be able to do both academic and the Hifz programme simultaneously

Insha-Allah, your child can become a Hafiz of the Quran before the end of the nine year schooling

A few Virtues and benefits of hifz-ul-Quran:

Highest ranks in jannah: The prophet (saw) said: “it will be said to the companion of the qur’an after he has entered paradise, ‘recite, and rise!’ for every verse he recites he will rise one level (in paradise), until he recites the last verse with him (i.e., in his memory).” (Aboo Dawood)

The highest honour: The Prophet (saw) said: “whosoever recites the Quran and practiceses upon its injunctions, the reciter’s parents will be given a crown on the day of qiyaamat. The brightness of that crown will be more intense than the brightness of the sun in your actual house.” (Mishkaat)

The best person is he who learns the Qur’an & teaches it (sahih al-bukhari)

Double reward for those who make effort but have difficulty in memorising the Quran (al-Bukhari)

A Hafiz will be allowed to intercede for 10 of his family members: The messenger of Allah (saw) said: “whoever reads the Quran, memorizes it, regards it’s permissible as permissible and it’s impermissible as impermissible Allah Ta’ala will enter him into jannah and allow him to intercede for ten family members, who were destined for jahannam”. (ref: sunan tirmidhi, sunan ibn majah, musnad ahmad)

Increase in memory and mental capacity through Hifz: Through the blessings of memorising the book of Allah, the Haafiz will develop, at an early age, his/her memory and mental capacity. In fact, most of the top students at IISS were Haafiz of Quran who completed their Hifz and HSC with very good results at IISS.

Alhamdu lillàh, about 50 boys and 30 girls are actually doing Hifz ul Quran together with their academic studies.

During the last 14 years, that is from 2003 to 2017, 28 students have completed the memorisation of the Holy Quran while doing their academic studies

During Ramadan, many of our Hifz students lead Taraaweeh around the island every year.
